Provide Fresh Reinforcements for Holistic Flourishing on the Front Lines in the Battle Against Poverty
Poverty is more than an absence of stuff we need. It's not that simple. It's a complex tangled web of brokeness on many levels—individual, familial, and communal. It isn't solved with a handout, a check, or even a job. It takes a personalized, holistic approach to spiritual, emotional, and physical empowerment. Nevertheless, America—the richest country in the world—is still number two on the list for highest rates of childhood poverty. One in three children in the United States live in poverty. This tell us something is wrong. Something is systemically not right. Something is broken.
Attack Poverty has declared war on poverty. The Houston-based nonprofit is on a mission to strengthen under-resourced communities through spiritual growth, education, revitalization, and basic needs—on three continents. With multiple locations in Texas, Uganda, India and East Asia, Attack Poverty partners with local churches, organizations, and stakeholders to break out prisoners of poverty through literacy programs, safe water projects, and job readiness prep classes.
Attack Poverty's strategic efforts have mobilized thousands to come together and flourish in eight growing communities (with more on the way). Over 19,180 lives have experienced Attack Poverty's tangible impact. And 5,614 eager volunteers embody the hands and feet of love. With more than 84 church partnerships, Attack Poverty is steadily gaining ground, driving back the forces of poverty one family at a time.
