Each year the Ausable River Association places portable toilets at popular trailheads and roadside destinations throughout the Ausable River watershed. These facilities prevent over 6,000 gallons of human waste from entering the environment each year. While our business sponsors cover a substantial portion of the program costs, each year we are left with a funding gap. We need your help to keep the Ausable River watershed clean and enjoyable for visitors and residents.
Eleven porta-johns are placed throughout the watershed at the following locations: The Flume, Hungry Trout Fly Shop, Copperas Pond Trailhead, Monument Falls, River Road, Cascade Trailhead (x2), Roaring Brook Falls Trailhead, Chapel Pond, Giant Ridge Trail Trailhead, and the pullout in Upper Jay along Route 9N.
Business sponsors: Adirondack Trail Improvement Society, ADKhighpeaks Foundation, Barkeater Trails Alliance, Dig The Falls, Hungry Trout Fly Shop, IRONMAN Foundation, Tri-Lake Trout Unlimited, and The Fallen Arch.
