Mental health is an often stigmatized, misunderstood, and overlooked issue that affects millions of people on a daily basis. But because of all of those adjectives I just used, many people who suffer from conditions like anxiety and depression (to name just two) are afraid to talk about it and live in silence that is often accompanied by shame, lack of self esteem, and an overall lack of self worth.
So as I face this 2019 "self-love" journey head-on, and run the first race that I have run in over five years... I do so while hopefully raising some much needed real awareness of mental illness by raising funds for Mental Health America. The 2019 Shamrock Shuffle is an 8k (five miles) so I'd like to try to raise $100 for each mile I'll be running.
Thank you in advance for all of your love and support.
