Greetings friends and family,
On Sunday May 5th, 2019 I will be running my third half marathon (21.1 km).
I didn't intend to run the Vancouver Marathon this year, opting to run the Rock N Roll half marathon in Seattle, WA in June instead. However, I was contacted this week by the BC Cancer Foundation who offered me an entry fee for my fundraising efforts in 2018. After some consideration, I've signed up again as a charity runner to support BC Cancer.
I have donated the equivalent of the entrance fee as my own donation to BC Cancer. I will also set my fundraising goal in 2019 to surpass my previous fundraising amount of $1,750 CAD. This is aggressive, but achievable.
As with every run I do, I will dedicate this in memory of my cousin, Elizabeth Kan. She was only 13 years old when she passed and would be celebrating her 24th birthday this year. I hope to raise funds for the BC Cancer Foundation, whereby your donation will go towards research and treatment in battling this crippling disease. Every dollar raised will stay right here, for the people of BC. Any donation is greatly appreciated and tax receipts will be issued for all donations greater than $10.
On a closing note, exactly one year ago I was a charity runner indirectly supporting BC Cancer. One year later, I am now employed by PHSA and directly supporting BC Cancer. Ironic isnt it?
Thank you so much for your gracious support!
