As I approach this next marathon, my third straight running for B*Cured and eighth overall, I have a lot to reflect upon from these last few years. It was three years ago at this time that David was diagnosed with a glioblastoma and now one year since his passing. While the kids and I miss David every day, we know that David would want us to live as he did – with passion and a love of life.
Running marathons has become a really meaningful part of my life. I get to train throughout the year with one of my best friends and it provides an athletic goal that an ex athlete like myself seeks. In addition, running for B*Cured is incredibly personal. B*Cured has become like family and has been an invaluable support system these past few years. I am extremely honored to run on behalf of this organization. I have also seen first-hand the research that B*Cured is funding and it is truly cutting edge. It makes me optimistic that we will begin to see more patients with glioblastoma live longer and ultimately be cured.
Please help me support B*Cured and honor David. You have all been so generous in your past support and I am highly uncomfortable asking people for money. If you would consider donating $100, I will match the first $10k raised.
