The North Shore Cancer WALK is Sunday, June 24, 2018! We walk in loving memory of my husband Dave, who inspired us with his courage and humor and inspired our team name. He saw Blue Man Group shortly after his treatment, and looked just like them...only Beige! We lost Dave in 2002, despite the heroic efforts of the staff at NSMC Cancer Center. Their compassion and care will never be forgotten and it made such a profound difference in Dave's journey.
We also remember the courage of little Kerrianne Luggelle, my brother's grandchild, who lost her battle seven years ago at the age of 9. Our “Orange Chick”, she was a staunch promoter of the color orange "because it gets so little attention and respect!" We later learned that orange represents "Hope". It is because of HOPE that we continue to WALK.
My partner Steve was diagnosed in 2016 with a return of his cancer, continues to respond well to treatment received at the NSMC Cancer Center understands first-hand why we WALKERS are so passionate in our continued support! We WALK for him and for so many others who are, and who will be, fighting this disease at the Cancer Center in Danvers.
ALL proceeds from the WALK stay RIGHT HERE and will support oncology services at North Shore Medical Center and the Massachusetts General/North Shore Cancer Center. Thank you so much for your support!
