The Race for Reading, a color 5k is a race to support literacy efforts. All net proceeds from the race benefit Believe in Books Literacy Foundation’s Bookmobile and the MWV Rec Path. The foundation reaches out to families and children throughout Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine.
Believe in Books Literacy Foundation programs and events are made possible entirely by fundraising efforts and donations which allow us to offer children’s literacy programs that are FREE and open to the public. Our 9th annual Race for Reading 5K Trail Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run is one of our annual fundraisers. This year’s event will be just as bright as the last – prepare to get blasted with color! Kids and adults will run/walk our usual course and get colored along the way. All participants will receive a race t-shirt (white, of course!) along with a color packet for the end of the race. Following the race there will be food and music from local favorite, Rek'lis for the entire family, plus Moat beer will be on tap for the 21+ crowd.
Prizes will be awarded to our top finishers and all kids will receive a medal. Registration begins at 9:30am with the kids run starting at 10:30. The adults will begin at 11 and our final color blast will happen when the last racer crosses the finish line.
