I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2016. I was incredibly lucky that it was caught early and I’m currently healthy. After word of my diagnosis spread, one of the first people to reach out to me was Cindy Harris. We both had children at the same school but I did not know her well. She too had breast cancer - a much more serious cancer than my own. She was kind, funny and supportive as I went though surgery and treatment. Just as I was finishing radiation, Cindy’s condition worsened. She passed away on March 1, 2017.
On Sunday, March 11th I will be participating in the Tower Cancer Research Foundation’s 5K in honor of my friend, Cindy. Tower Cancer Research Foundation was a cause very close to Cindy’s heart. Please consider donating any amount you can to this organization and/or participating in the event with me.
The 2018 Power of Tower 5K Walk/Run honors the life of Cindy Harris who lost her 6 year battle with Breast Cancer in March 2017. Cindy was only 40 and the mother of two young daughters, Ashley and Emma, when she passed. Cindy was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer at the incredibly young age of 34, while pregnant with her youngest daughter. Cindy left no stone unturned, and was a tireless fighter for her and her family. Please help us honor this amazing Woman, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Wife, and Friend by supporting a cause near and dear to her heart – to make the next generation a Cancer Free Generation.
