Alright, so this year, I’d really like to take the 2019 Chicago Polar Plunge not only to raise money for Special Olympics Chicago, but also to help end the stigma surrounding bipolar disorder. I created the team, Bipolar Plungers, not just for anyone who has bipolar disorder, but also for those who support someone recovering from it, or for anyone who just wants to join in on the fun. Teams with 20 members or more will be awarded for their efforts with a free, round-trip bus. So come on board, and help make Bipolar Plungers a great team!
If you can’t or don’t want to join me, please consider donating to Special Olympics Chicago on behalf of Bipolar Plungers. We need to raise a minimum of $200 for each plunger, so even if you can only afford to give $1, please do. All funds raised will benefit the Special Olympics Chicago athletes, covering program costs such as transportation, sports equipment, team uniforms and food. Through your participation, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities and success.
So be #FREEZINFORAREASON and support the 7,500+ special olympians who compete year-round in the city of Chicago. No matter what, I hope to see you all at North Avenue Beach on Sunday morning, March 3rd!
