UPDATE! We have another animal who needs our help! Little Ariel the kitten was scheduled for her spay surgery today but durning her pre-surgery exam the vet discovered a severe heart murmur. At 8 weeks old Ariel has just begun to enjoy life, playing with her sisters and looking forward to being adopted.
We are consulting with the doctors again at the ISU College of Vet Med. So far they have given us two options, euthaniza or surgery to repair the heart mumur. The cost of the surgery is estimated at $4,000 but they believe she could have a complete recovery and go on to live a good life.
Ariel will be seen by the doctors tomorrow, May 25th, for a complete evaulation. We know we are asking a lot again of all of you but please consider another gift to our special needs fund to save Ariel! Any amount would be greatly appricated. We want to give Ariel that chance to get adopted and grow up to be a healthy, beautiful cat.
We are raising funds to help special needs dogs like Xena. Xena came to us after being hit by a car. Her owner could not afford the medical costs so she has been surrendered to us. To date we have medical bills of over $800 for her emergency treatment and that's just the beginning.
The doctors at ISU College of Veterinary recomend pinning her fractured pelvis with a surgery estimated cost of $3,000-5,000. She also has some fractures on her legs. Xena is a young dog with a good chance for recovery! No amount is too small, please consider donating.
If we have any funds left over after all of Xena's medical costs are paid they will go in Journey's Fund. Journey's Fund was established 4 years ago in honor of a small kitten with some serious medical issues. We use the fund to help animals that come to us needing some extra care before they are ready for adoption.
