Did you know that up to 1 in 5 women will suffer from a maternal mental health disorder such as postpartum depression & anxiety? As moms and providers specializing in maternal mental health, we are passionate about supporting other moms, and educating the public about mood disorders that may occur during pregnancy or postpartum.
This year we are thrilled to partner with a non-profit based out of the Boston area. Sober Mommies is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, understanding, all-encompassing, judgment-free platform for mothers in and contemplating recovery from substance abuse and misuse.
Their groups offer support, resources, and encouragement to women balancing recovery and parental responsibilities; while providing opportunities to build their recovery tribe.
Through online and in-person mentorship and peer support, Sober Mommies empowers women to ask for help, advocate for themselves using the resources/services available, practice healthy coping skills, and become active within their communities.
Join us for some fun on May 12, 2018 at 11 am at the Rose Kennedy Greenway (walk will begin at the Carousel) as we cover ourselves in color, spread awareness about maternal mental health, and raise funds to continue to support the work of 2020Mom and Sober Mommies.
Please share our link on your social media and spread the word among your family, friends, and co-workers. If you are unable to join us, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
