Once a year, I look to join someone else's bike ride for a worthy cause. In this case, I'll join 30+ other cyclists from around the country on the Break the Cycle 200 ride. That's right, we'll #PrayPedalRepeat 200 miles in one day from Des Moines, IA to Okiboji, IA all to end human trafficking. As many of you know, I've been to Thailand, India, and 27 other countries - I've seen the impact of human trafficking first hand - and it breaks my heart. I've done the research, heard the stories, and realize it's an issue right in my hometown of Ft. Myers, FL. I've educated youth group kids and our own kids on this issue. This is an injustice and we can't be silent. We must pray, and we can give to help organizations that are working on the front-lines.
Jesus said, "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me, to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." (Luke 4:18-19)
We know He was making this declaration about Himself, but He also called His followers to "go and do likewise." That's where we come in. Would you consider a special gift to help me reach my fundraising goal of $500? Thank you so much and I look forward to updating you on this double-century-ride this coming June 2018. Love to all.
