I’m cheering on Brenda as she runs for girls’ education in Kenya!
Brenda is a sophomore at Daraja Academy, a free secondary school in Kenya for exceptional girls who can’t afford to continue their education. Brenda and the rest of the Daraja girls are running their own version of San Francisco’s “Bay to Breakers” race on campus in Kenya this May. Brenda is running to fundraise for Daraja Academy, so that she and other girls like her can receive the education they deserve.
Brenda is from Rongai, in Nakuru, and says that she had to stay home because she couldn’t afford the fees when all of her classmates had already started secondary school. When she found out about Daraja, she “was as happy as a newly crowned queen.” At Daraja, she says that her “best club” is music and dancing. She also enjoys running, athletics, and playing on the volleyball team. When she graduates, she would like to study to be a lawyer, so that she can fight for women’s rights. I am cheering on Brenda ’s efforts from afar by fundraising for Daraja Academy in her honor.
Please help Brenda support her school! Thank you so much.
