Every year, the SKILLZ Summer School program serves 100 young people at risk of dropping out of Pasadena schools. In a nurturing and safe environment, we provide these youth with the life skills and academic skills they need to thrive in school and in life. Not many people know, but vast disparities exist in Pasadena. Many youth here face huge barriers to success - like family poverty, gang activity in their neighborhoods, and unstable housing situations. These challenges mean our students often lack the resources they need to enter the school year with confidence.
You can change that. Help us raise $5,000 by the time summer school ends on July 17, so we can give all our students a backpack filled with school supplies to start the school year.
Any amount helps. One notebook might not seem like a big deal, but to a struggling student with limited resources, it could mean the difference between acing a class and having to retake it.
$5 buys a spiral notebook
$10 buys a calculator
$20 buys packs of pencils for 10 students
$50 buys a backpack filled with all the school supplies a student needs
By investing in these youth, you invest in the future of our community. You can create a healthier Pasadena by uplifting the community's most vulnerable young people.
