When I run, I run to be better, stronger, healthier, happier, and stress-free. I don't run or exercise to be a certain size, I run because it makes me feel at home. This is the first time I am running for something greater than myself. I want to be able to give back to a charity which helps provide the proper resources and services for mental health because it affects my loved ones and my closest friends. Some of my best friends have experienced severe depression and they have separated themselves socially because they find that no one cares or that they are alone. I want them to know that they are not alone, there are services, programs and people who care for them, including myself. Even I struggle with mental health, I'd rather not get into it because this run is not about me, but what I want to say is that I understand the pain.
Mental health is necessary to discuss. Can you believe that even to this day many of our youth are still scared to open up and discuss their struggles? With all the great technology and connectivity we have today in 2018, I find people feel more alone than ever. I run for the Canadian Mental Health Association and to those who struggle with mental health, I see you, I understand you, and I will run for you.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for your donations.

Canadian Mental Health Association(CMHA) is one of Canada’s most established national mental health charities. Our vision is mentally healthy people in a health society. As the nation-wide leader and champion for mental health., CMHA helps people access the community resources they need to build resilience and support recovery from mental illness or addiction. We do this by building capacity, influencing policy, providing services and developing resources.
