WHY I'M LIFTING
REASON 1: Strength-training provides me with a focus and measure of accountability to myself. I want to expand that beyond just me and my sense of breaching my own barriers by using this opportunity to raise funds for the Ali Forney Center. In the richest country in the history of the world, homelessness should not be an epidemic. The Ali Forney Center provides services and temporary housing for Queer and Trans youth, and I am happy to help in this way!
REASON 2: Strength-training is often a solitary activity for me, so it excites me to lift with a team! A team of queer folks is Pulling for Pride and raising funds. We are keeping each other accountable, inspired, and motivated -- so please help us out by donating whatever you can (more if you can, less if you can't)!
REASON 3: This event will kick off the Summer in singular style!
