Hellllllo! I've been a Red Crosser for three years now, and am proud to be part of this campaign. I've had the priviledge of going door-to-door to help install free smoke alarms in people's homes, and help them make fire escape plans. Most people don't know you only have TWO minutes to escape a fire! Our region is trying to raise $10,000 to help even more people in our community. Please consider donating $15, $30, $45, or $90+ to make this campaign possible. - Cara

Every day, an average of seven people die in home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. Sadly, children and the elderly disproportionately lose their lives. In April and May of 2018, Red Cross volunteers and our partners will install 100,000 free smoke alarms in high risk neighborhoods throughout the nation. In the Cascades Region (Oregon and Southwest Washington), the Red Cross will install 1,000 smoke alarms in homes that need them during three large-scale community events. Sound the Alarm events include the installation of free smoke alarms and the delivery of fire safety education, escape planning tools and information on other local hazards in order to increase preparedness and overall community resilience. Make a donation to support Red Cross efforts to end home fires and install free, lifesaving smoke alarms in homes that need them across the nation. Thank you for your support!
