For those of you who know me, you'll understand why I am so proud to be working at the American Red Cross where every 8-minutes we respond to a disaster (big or small), many of which are home fires; and every 8-minutes, we are able to help someone or a family when they need it most.
Did you know that you only have about 2 minutes to escape a fire? (I know I didn't!) Seven times a day someone in this country dies in a house fire and more than 60 percent of fire deaths occur in homes without working smoke alarms. The Red Cross is working to improve the odds of survival by as much as 25% over the next few years. This is where our national campaign comes in! Sound the Alarm. Save a Life is a national event from April 28th through May 13th, where we install 100,000 FREE smoke alarms, educate families about fire prevention, and map fire escape routes.
Help save a life today and provide hope and urgent relief to people in their time of greatest need by donating to my fundariser page. A gift of any size helps prepare, respond and help families recover from home fire (e.g. $120 provides 8 smoke alarm installations - that's at least 8 lives saved!).
Thank you for supporting a cause dear to me and please encourage your family and friends to join you by sharing my page! Thank you!
