If you’ve ever been to a city shelter, you probably only saw a fraction of the animals there, the ones that aren’t too stressed, sick, shutdown, scared or feisty to be promoted for adoption. Cat Town is the only rescue organization that gives the cats in the back of the shelter another chance at a happy life.
Your donation today will support Cat Town's groundbreaking programs that help the cats most in need, like:
- In It for Life Program funds the lifelong medical expenses for senior cats
- The Foster Program, Studios, and cage-free Adoption Center, which provide every cat with a comfortable place to live as they de-stress, heal and learn how to enjoy human companionship
- The Forgotten Kitten Project socializes kittens who had no human contact in their formative first few months of life
- Case Managers follow up on adoptions to ensure that our cats transition smoothly into their new homes [I started this program!]
Maddie’s Apprenticeship Program has shown dozens of rescue organizations nationwide how to replicate this work.
Your support now will make a huge difference this summer, when the shelters fill up with kittens and resources are stretched to the limit. Cat Town will make sure every cat gets the second chance they deserve.
Seven years ago the euthanasia rate for cats at the Oakland shelter was 42%. After taking in more than 1,900 cats, Cat Town has helped reduce it to less than 13%. With more than 100 cats in our care on any given day, your contribution will provide lifesaving medical care to sick and injured cats and teach scared kittens how to overcome their fear. Your donation will ensure cats with nowhere else to turn find great homes.
