Since 2006 Children's Healing Art Project (CHAP) has been bringing the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges.
At CHAP, children are known for their creativity and ingenuity — not by their disease, diagnosis or disability.
Our innovative and inclusive healing arts programs are provided free of charge to children, teens and families affected by pediatric illness, disability or special need. CHAP provides Oregon’s only in-and-out of hospital interactive healing arts program.
CHAP Hospital Programs are currently located at Oregon Health & Science University.
CHAP’s mobile art services feature unique art supplies and projects that spark the imagination. Whether it’s a beading project, painting, puppet-making, collage, or simply drawing with a black marker on a sketch pad, CHAP allows children to find their own voices through the artistic process.
For over ten years, our teaching artists have led over 40 hours of healing art experiences per week at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center, Knight Cancer Institute and the Pediatric Neurosurgery Clinic. CHAP is celebrating over 50,000 healing art experiences!
Our goal is to create 100,000 more healing art experiences over the next decade!
Our hard-working Board of Directors, passionate corps of volunteers, and generous sponsors+supporters help us extend the healing power of art in magical ways that would not be possible otherwise.
MORE ART+ MORE MESS= MORE HEALING!

- Art supplies
Campaign funds will be used towards sustainability, preservation and growing our organization. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go towards CHAP programming. No amount is too small or large!
