This October 21st, I, along with anyone I can get to join me, will be riding every single-track trail in Wolfeboro, NH as many times as we can to support DL Blue Ridge. For each mile we ride, we would like you to make a pledge to DL Blue and help us raise the money to build another Deerfoot. My hope is to ride at least 50 miles, but there will be opportunities to ride shorter distances as well: 10 miles, 25 miles, etc. Along with the whole Deerfoot community, we're going to be working on raising these funds one trail at a time. Please participate by either giving money to our fundraiser, or better yet, by joining us on the trail and getting pledges of your own. Thanks for considering this important event.
If we get 20 particpants, who either raise or contribute at least $20, each of these participants will get an official Wolfehammer T-shirt.
The ride departs from the Railroad Ave. parking lot in Wolfeboro at 8:30 AM. We will make stops from time to time for water and food, including a free lunch available at my home, which is along the ride route. The ride will continue on all day until about 6:00 PM, but there will be opportunities for participants to finish earlier as we will cross the Railroad Ave. lot again around the 10 mile, and 25 mile marks during the ride. The ride will include gravel pathways, brief road crossings, and will consist primarily of technical singletrack.
As Summer Camp Director of Deerfoot Lodge Adirondack and a former camper and summer-staffer, I know what God can do in the lives of men through DL. Deerfoot builds godly men by connecting them with excellent college-age mentors and giving them opportunities to be challenged physically, socially, and spiritually. That's why I can't stand by and watch wait-lists grow when there are young men waiting at the door who need a Deerfoot experience. It's time for Deerfoot to do what Deerfooters do best: We're taking on a challenge that seems impossible at first. The commitment it's going to take scares us a little, but we know God is bigger than the obstacles in our way.
