I am thrilled to be representing Team Framingham in the 2018 Boston Marathon. As a second-year runner for the team, I now know many of the challenges that lay ahead during training and on race day, and will find strength in my charity program to help me through those times.
I am running in support of the Resiliency for Life Program, a voluntary academic intervention and dropout prevention program within the Framingham Public Schools. This program helps to develop skills and confidence in students with social difficulties who are at risk of academic failure. Students start each day in the Resiliency for Life homeroom and end each day in the after-school program, where they receive valuable support in various forms. For example, the program provides tutoring, lessons in life skills, career planning, sports therapy, and even accompanies students on college visits.
For such an important cause, I know I will be able to remain resilient on my journey into Boston. Thank you for your support!
