As many of you know I recently had brain surgery to remove a benign brain tumor that caused seizures for the last 16 plus years. I have lived a very productive and high functioning life. I made the decision to have surgery to have a better quality of life long term and in hopes to also be seizure free. I am again doing The Mark Linder Walk for the Mind as a “survivor”. I have never asked to raise money or have a team in the past although I have been a part of this amazing cause in years past. This year is truly important to me to be a part of this and raise money for both awareness and to help others right here in our community. Brain tumors are scary but do not mean you cannot fight, perservere, and overcome. I am here for a reason. I am here to show you that having Faith over Fear is important. Recovery may not be as easy as I had hoped, but I will be higher functioning and I will be back! Slow and steady sometimes wins the race. My goal is to have you join me on race day. Be a part of my team and help raise money to keep research here in Peoria to help others when times are difficult and they need answers. We have a great Neuro team right here that is truly top notch and I could not have imagined surgery any where but here.
