I was the kid picked last for every sporting team and I‘ve finished at the back of the pack in every race I‘ve ever run. I am certainly no athlete! Yet for the past few years I have been pursuing my dream of finishing the Six World Marathon Majors. This is a feat fewer than 5000 people globally have currently completed. By attaining my goal I want to prove what can be accomplished through grit, discipline, resilience, determination and perseverance - the power of challenging your own thinking to overcome obstacles and achieve your dreams.
Marathon number four in my quest will be the 2019 Boston Marathon and I am honoured to be running on behalf of the Alpha Omega Council.
The Alpha Omega Council is a non-profit philanthropic and service organisation based in Boston. The Council supports various religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational activities. The work of the Council encourages an appreciation of the civic responsibility and bravery that the Ancient Greeks demonstrated at Marathon. Since its founding in 1976, the Council has donated more than $2M to charitable causes.
