For the past 9 years, Mawuvio's Outreach Programme (MOP) has provided free education and care for disadvantaged orphaned Ghanaian youth. This year is a turning point for MOP as our first graduating class completes their basic education and continue on to high school.
As with primary education in Ghana, high school education is also not free. At this time, Mawuvio's Outreach Programme is unable to provide our students with high school and will send our students to local high schools ensuring they continue their education.
High schools in Ghana are boarding schools operating under the belief that if the students live at the school they are able to devote significantly more time to studying. Therefore, high school costs are higher than primary school.
We are reaching out to you, the graduating class of 2007 to help us be able to send MOP students high school.
The costs of high school include all aspects of life for a high schooler (education, dormitory, feeding, extracurricular activities, health care etc.) and are listed below:
$1500 freshman year
$1000 sophomore year
$1000 junior year
$4500 to send one student to high school
Our 2018 graduating class, Michael, Kwame, Rebecca, Jonathon and Alex are 5 young people desperate to continue their education in high school. Without your help, Mawuvio's Outreach Programme will be unable to support their students on to attend high school. Our students are smart, bright individuals who need to continue their education so they can receive jobs that make them contributing members in the Ghanaian society. They need a high school degree in order to make this dream come true.
