I'm not all that active in fund-raising, besides, actually just donating the money. Sometimes I'll share the post, sign petitions, write letters, etc...I've taken part in some drives but I have never solicited for donations to fund a brand-new organization, ever. So, why am I stepping up now and asking you to donate to Coastal Foodshed now?
Well, besides the fact that the founder, Kim Ferreira, is my dear friend and I share her passion for healthy local food and beautiful, common sense solutions, she has, with Coastal Foodshed literally organized a novel solution for problems within our food system, and it is working. Coastal Foodshed started in what's called Massachusett's South Coast, but their business model is something that could be employed across America, to help solve such problems as high rates of people on food stamps, poor nutrition and food options for kids and their families, creating economic advantages for local, small farmers and food producers and stepping up the quality of living for whole communities.
Please help me with this campaign and do something,

Coastal Foodshed creates markets for local farmers and food producers, to sell their food in communities with high rates of folks on government assistance, like food stamps. I'm stepping it up to actively solicit funds for this group, Coastal Foodshed, to do what I can so that kids can once again be raise on fruits from local orchards, fresh vegetables and on meat, dairy, eggs and other staples that nourish them and the local community.
