The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) is honored to be a Charity Partner of the 2018 Colfax Marathon! Whether you are running in the marathon, or are a family member or friend of someone who is running the marathon to support the NSCD, we thank you for visiting our page. The NSCD could not provide the opportunities we offer to children and adults with disabilities without the support of people like you! Any donation you are able to provide is greatly appreciated by our program participants. Want more information about what activities the NSCD provides? Read about us below:
The NSCD one of the largest outdoor therapeutic recreation and adaptive sports agencies in the world, based out of Winter Park Resort and Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Colorado. The NSCD began in 1970 providing ski lessons for children with amputations for the Children’s Hospital of Denver. Each year more than 3,000 children and adults with disabilities participate in our programs to learn more about sports and themselves. With specially trained staff and volunteers, and its own adaptive equipment lab, the NSCD teaches a variety of year-round sports and activities to individuals with almost any physical, cognitive, emotional or behavioral diagnosis.
