iFLY Youth’s mission to produce the next generation of lifelong travelers by exposing middle school girls to international travel, leadership development and character building. As an organization, we seek to increase low income student participation in international travel and education experiences by providing girls the tools and confidence to travel the world. This year, we have selected 11 girls from E.L. Haynes Middle School located in Washington, D.C. to participate in our international education programming trip to La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica from June 25-30, 2018. This life-changing journey will include activities such as delivering school supplies to a local orphanage, learning how to harvest cacao and trekking through the rainforest to discover all its biodiversity! Another component of this program is our weekly after school program where we teach our scholars how to travel. They learn how to convert money, develop a savings plan and communicate across different cultures.
