I have had family members and several friends diagnosed with various types of cancer. Most are survivors and have been blessed to beat this disease. In 2017, I had my own scare when cancerous cells were found in my esophagus. I benefitted from very early detection, and the treatment was easy considering what others go through...but I know that my story could have been vastly different. This was a tremendous wake up call for me. I chose to participate as a rider this year because I want to change my life. I want to prove to myself that I can do it...and I want to do this battle for those who can't.
Laura Beth, Jamie, Rod, Sarah, Pam, Michelle, Mandy, Matt, Cathy...I will be riding in your honor.
Leigh Ann, Noelle, Rom, Ginger, and Uncle John...I will be riding in your memory.
These people are friends, fighters, and loved ones. They are also beloved by many people that I know and love. It is my honor to dedicate my ride to them.
I’m inspired to ride to give hope to cancer patients that a cure can and will be found.
My message to cancer
"Be afraid. Together, we are an army ready to do battle. We are coming for you...and WE.WILL.WIN."
