Here's the story:
Who is the Cream Team? We are four 13 year old boys (Adrian Ali, Aidan McCauley, Peyton Hillson & Will Lovelace) who are just finishing up 7th grade at Dodd Middle School in Cheshire, CT.
Why do we want to participate in this fundraiser? We all have incredible moms and females in our lives. It would be impossible to imagine life without them cheering us on, loving us unconditionally, and encouraging us to be the best people we can be. It would also be hard to imagine them not begging us to pick up our trail of belongings scattered throughout the house. We all liked the idea of helping to raise money for this important research. And how could we turn down the chance to eat as much ice cream as possible with our moms permission??
How do we help raise money for this research? We get to compete at the Scoops Challenge on June 22nd with other teams to see who can eat the most ice cream in 3 minutes. The Scoops Challenge is one of the main fundraising events for The Cancer Couch.
The Cancer Couch is a non-profit organization that funds metastatic breast cancer research. The facts are, 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer, and 30% of those diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will eventually be re-diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). The average prognosis for MBC patients is 2-3 years, and yet less than 7% of breast cancer research funds go towards MBC.
Can you please help us reach our goal? No amount is too small!
Thank you very much, Adrian, Aidan, Peyton & Will
