Farm productivity in urban areas of India is falling due to farmland diversion to infrastructure projects, climate change and use of toxic sewer water for irrigation. Farmers selloff the land because they don’t have access to capital to mechanize the farms and thus face repeated crop failures and rising debt. Our business model of cooperative farming will make them self-reliant and train them to adopt environmentally and economically sustainable vertical farming. In Jan 2018, using a fund of $20,000, we will start building 1st vertical farm near New Delhi in direct collaboration with three farmers. We are mobilizing resources for setting up the farm. After we set up farms, a farmer self-help group will be formed to collect a small percentage of monthly profit from benefitted farmers and using it to set up new farms and train other farmers. In the 1st Year, we are planning to set up 200 farms and expand it to 500 farms in 2nd year. We need a total of $50,000 to make this farmer help venture a success and I need your help in making this a success.
