844 Million people around the world lack access to clean water. Most families have to walk an average of 6 km each way to collect water, typically multiple times a day. This responsibility typically falls on young girls and women.
Without easy access to clean drinking water many children and teenagers our own age never have the opportunity to go to school since they are walking to collect water. Many people die of waterborne illnesses, women do not have the opportunity to work and bring in an income. Daily life is focused on collecting sufficient water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, laundry and bathing.
On Friday, May 25th during periods 3 and 4, join us in raising funds and awareness for clean water initiatives around the world. $25 gives clean water to 1 person for life.
