"The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you, simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people." And when one of those people need you to lift them up, you do, because that is what friends do.
We decided on a whim to enter our names into the Chicago marathon lottery and were ecstatic when we each received a bib number! Just as training started, news was delivered that one never wants to hear, our good friend Jennifer Wolfrom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 34.
She is one of the strongest, most courageous women we know and she is going to conquer this battle. But no matter how much determination someone has, beating cancer relies on the help and support of the many doctors, researchers, friends and family. This is why we have decided to dedicate our Chicago Marathon run to this incredible woman and raise much needed funds for the American Thyroid Association. The American Thyroid Association is dedicated to the advancement, understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer. Thyroid Cancer is growing among young adults, which is both scary and eye opening. However, thanks to research grants from donations to the ATA, early diagnosis and treatment is now available, allowing for high success rates and much optimism for cases like Jenny's.
Please consider a donation to support this important organization, and help us show our support as Jenny fights the fight of her life. Thank you!
