Day for Days, was created by accident. In April of 2018 I decided to run the Big Sur Marathon and happened to run it to support a charity that was near and dear to me– Inheritance of Hope. When I decided to run for Inheritance of Hope, I didn’t just want to to do the typical ask my friends for help, I wanted to make a significant difference. Coming from the tourism and hospitality world, I often get asked to donate to these one offs silent auctions, auctions, or giveaways for charities – while I’m happy to do so and do so often, the dollars raised are good but not significant. So I decided to a little different fundraiser, I would take the crème de la crème of Charlottesville together and put together an itinerary that would be fit for a king and queen. Meaning, if you donated to the campaign, you would become eligible to win said day – if you won you would have black car service all day taking you to some of the areas best sites- Our vineyards, our breweries, Monticello, some of the best restaurants, followed by box seats at the Sprint Pavilion, and of course lodging, basically VIP service and having the red carpet rolled out at each stop. The idea simply became if you donate helping us give days to someone else changing their life, you’d be eligible to win a day that mine change yours – or at least that you wouldn’t forget anytime soon.
So fast word and I had already put this day together, I was sitting in a room listening to various charities pitch for a grant – these charities helped homelessness, refuges that had served our country in the Middle East, charities that put shelter over peoples head, inspire those that needed it. As I sat there, it was impossible for me to try and decide which charity needed it more than the next, all of them were doing great work and using their funds in a beneficial way to their mission – And that’s how Day 4 Days was accidentally born – we didn’t just want to help one group, we felt but no choice to help many.
So follow us, share us, like us, follow our future campaigns on our Facebook page or our own website. We have numerous upcoming itineraries that we’ll be giving away but also know, that by donating, your donations will go straight to charity. Day 4 Days is not a nonprofit, it’s a platform that helps raise money for charity, awareness of Charlottesville, and hopefully a day for you to remember.
The winner of this “Day” will be chosen by the charity and chosen at random on Friday May 4th– it could be based on joining the team, number of shares, likes, or dollars — it’s anyone’s guess including mine.
Eligibility rules include:
• By donating, you are eligible to win the Day. The Day will take place between May 14 and May 16, 2018. (If you are not available these days, we can make other arrangements. The Day is based on shows at the Sprint Pavilion.)
• Employees of the selected charities are not eligible to win.
• The winner of the Day will have all lodging and meals provided once they arrive in Charlottesville. The winner of the Day is able to bring a guest (the Day is provided for two people).
