The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods provides resources and opportunities for community members to build strong communities and improve their quality of life. With more than 180 neighborhoods in the city, we meet people where they are and play a key role in helping neighbors develop a stronger sense of place, build closer ties, and engage with their communities and city government.
For the month of February, the P-Patch Community Gardening Program team is hosting a department food drive for our staff to build on the incredible work our gardeners do every year to make healthy food accessible for all community members.
The P-Patch Community Gardening Program improves food access by supporting Giving Gardens where gardeners grow food for local food banks and meal programs. In 2018, gardeners donated more than 34,000 pounds of produce.
