Every day, 96 people in America are killed with guns. Many of the victims are children. In response to the recent Parkland massacre and the daily toll of gun-related deaths, Action Together: Zürich, CH is hosting a fundraiser for Everytown for Gun Safety, one of the leading anti-gun violence NGOs in the United States. Everytown works with communities across the U.S. to advocate for common-sense gun laws and policies that will save lives. We have timed this fundraiser to coincide with Steve Bannon's upcoming visit to Zürich on March 6, 2018.
Mr. Bannon briefly worked as an advisor to President Trump and as the Chair of Breitbart. In addition to peddling fake news and white nationalism, Mr. Bannon has repeatedly advocated for extremist positions on gun violence -- positions radically out of step with those of responsible gun owners and of the overwhelming majority of American people. Mr. Bannon has the right to try to earn a living however he can; however, we urge communities across the world to use Mr. Bannon's speaking engagements as an opportunity to reaffirm the values that decent people around the world hold dear, including the right of children to go to school without fear.
Mr. Bannon: we don't buy your extremist positions. In the words of Emma Gonzalez, a Parkland student leader: "We call B.S." Please join us in supporting the students, parents, teachers, and community members working tirelessly to make American communities safe again. All funds raised will go directly to Everytown to Gun Safety. Please help us spread the word.
