Please help raise money for C.A.D.E. I have two amazing boys who have autism and they both went through ABA therapy. Both boys started ABA when they were two, and are now 5 and 7. I can't begin to describe the difference it made in my boys lives. They weren't from non verbal to speaking and learning skills to lead happy lives. They still have moments when things are difficult and they need a break, but now they can communicate it. In no way has ABA ever changed my children from who they are, but enhanced it. I count it a blessing everyday I get to learn a little bit more about them, and watch them successfully accomplish simple tasks others take for granted. For example: putting shoes on, washing hands, interacting with other people, saying what their favorite color is. I watch their self confidence build now. I now can join in on their likes and interests. Playing aliens with my youngest and reciting movies lines with my oldest are just some of the ways I can now play and interact with my children. Before it was difficult to know what they interests even were. Now I don't waste anytime joining in with them or take these moments for granted. ABA is not an affordable treatment plan, and most insurances do not cover it. There were many insurance battles and struggles to obtain coverage. At one point my oldest's insurance policy dropped the ABA coverage. It is a horrible feeling to not be able to provide help your child needs. Which is why I encourage you to give to C.A.D.E. Every child deserves the chance.
