The East Tennessee Rowing Organization (ETRO) is looking for support for our Capital Equipment Fund. ETRO believes the sport of rowing can change lives of the youth involved, making fitness and overall wellness are achievable goals for everyone. We RECOGNIZE the that rowing is immersed in a college going culture and the benefits and opportunities of the sport can be afforded to the underrepresented athletes in our area through their involvement. Our MISSION is to provide an affordable, positive and community impacting fitness programs in the Knoxville Metro area. Our CONVICTION is that the sport of rowing has the unique capability to promote personal growth, confidence, fitness, and lifelong friendships through fostering a healthy lifestyle and a sense of community within a framework of physical fitness and team dynamics, where the success of the boat exceeds the success of any one athlete. ETRO works to ADDRESS the barriers to participation by going into and working with area school P.E. departments to offer RowingEd session, conduct no-cost weeklong summer learn-to-row clinics, and provide the facilities, equipment, and coaching to apply a whole-body approach to training youth on and off water. ETRO has experienced 70% growth each of the past three years. The club, funded by membership fees, needs assistance with the resources to support the rapid growth. ETRO reliant on our Capital Equipment Fund to provide the specialized equipment (shells, oars, rowing machines, coxswain equipment, and coach safety launches) needed so that everyone can participate in a safe and productive learning environment. THANK YOU for your consideration and support.
