We Need Your Help to Qualify For a $100,000 grant!
HELP US REACH OUR GOAL BY APRIL 12!
We are looking for a capital investment toward the Community Solutions and Entrepreneurship Center (CSEC).
We want to renovate and expand our Leadership & Legacy Center. The CSEC will be a place where innovative business solutions that support neighborhood quality of life can be incubated and nurtured. We will also be expanding the neighborhood-owned communication hub in its existing Community Voice News Network to reinforce the positive activities in the area resulting in increased connectivity of neighbors and the assets found within the area inclusive of the new businesses started.
The CSEC staff will provide initial business (or business idea) assessment, develop a custom journey map, and identify the best program pathway for each individual. Each entrepreneur will work with a Financial Coach to help them with their personal and business financial literacy and offer financial products that build credit. They will help connect entrepreneurs with networking opportunities and help them navigate city/state offerings through SBA, ISBDC, Business Opportunities Initiative, SCORE; and access to seed funding for minority enterprises.
We plan to use this course outline to help with clients:
-Is your dream practical?
-Social Capital Fundamentals
-Social Entrepreneur Fundamentals
-Business Model & Personal Strengths Evaluation
-The Art of the Start
-Developing Habits for Success Workshop
-Leadership & Conflict Transformation Workshop
-Strategic Planning & Execution
-Graduation & Celebration
The direct recipients of the CSEC will be youth and senior citizens with aspirations to create business opportunities that contribute to the overall quality of life for Martindale Brightwood residents. The CSEC already has sixteen partners organizations, six of whom are in Martindale-Brightwood.
Our neighborhood suffers from disproportionate crime, poverty, and unemployment, as well as poor academic outcomes. Over 25% of the neighborhood is age 55 and over. The overwhelming majority of seniors are low income, with limited access to quality food, adequate transportation, high quality healthcare, and life affirming activities overall. By implementing and expanding CSEC, we can target and address these barriers and work to reduce them. We would do this by encouraging skill development and providing resources through referrals and relationships with local programs that have potential clients for community-focused businesses.
We're asking your support, as a donor, to help us foster an environment of innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship by donating money to set up and add to the CSEC program. We also ask for your support by being open to networking and making connections with our entrepreneurs. Spread the word!
Let's make an impact.
