“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.” - Rabindranath Tagore
Jan 28th 2017 I was diagnosed with Abdominal Carcinoid Tumors and had extensive surgery few days later at Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt lake City. I went from being a strong athlete who was racing mountain bikes at high altitude in Leadville to not being able to take a few steps. At that time I decided I will not let this event define who I am and I will face my fears with courage and use the remaining part of my life to continue to do good through my foundation efforts. #Climb4Humanity is one of such several initiatives I am undertaking. #fcancer
I leave for Nepal on March 27th to make an attempt to climb a 20,500 ft mountain, my first. Iam doing this to raise awareness for PTSD among Veterans. I am supporting a great organization called PTSD "Professional Transformation Sports Development". It helps create awareness about PTSD among Veterans and helps fight it through engaging them in outdoor athletes. I am doing this climb with my good friend Russell Davies who is an Army Veteran and a recipient of "Purple Heart" for his service to our country. I am also doing this to celebrate my one year of cancer free survival and to give hope to all those in this world who are fighting these battles with courage and perserverance.
