I learned about the plight of victims of trafficking and abuse years ago as I walked the streets of Tijuana, Mexico. I was broken evenmoreso as I learned about the outrageous number of trafficked women and children brought into our United States. This is not just a North America problem. This is evidence of sin, brokenness and disconnection. I want to help in any way I can I want to invite you to join me.
My friend, Andrea Baker is the Director of a mission organization called Word Made Flesh in Bolivia (WMFB). Andrea and her family have devoted their lives to working directly with victims of trafficking and abuse in Bolivia. WMFB rescues victims, nurtures their whole being and has established an incredible source of employment and viability in Sutisana. http://sutisana.com/ Andrea recently asked me if I would help them meet a growing need of their ministry.
She writes, "We work holistically for the transformation of prostituted women and their children. Right now we have 60+ children of sex workers registered in our children’s program. These are kids severely at risk for repeating the abusive cycles of their parents (violence, abuse, addiction, etc.). But we want to empower them to break free - along with their mamas! So these kids, ages 2-15 y/o, come to our program 3 days/week for a nutritious lunch, tutoring, discipleship, leadership development, sexual abuse & anti-trafficking prevention and more. We are hoping to raise $7,200 for the WMFB Children’s Program by Dec. 31, 2017, which will cover the cost of lunches for the year. $12/month will feed 1 child."
I want to raise $2500 toward their goal. How much will you, your family or your business give to help feed these children?
