Hi there! My name is Sam Bellissimo and I'm a 25 year-old currently living in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I’m beyond ecstatic to announce that I’ve been selected by Fenway Health as one of their three runners for the 2019 Boston Marathon. Anyone who knows me can attest to how passionate I am about both the LGBTQIA+ community and healthcare, so to work with Fenway at the intersection of these two is an absolute honor.
Fenway Health diagnosed New England’s first case of AIDS in 1981 and has been on the forefront of Boston’s medical scene ever since, working to ensure that the LGBTQIA+ community and other minorities have the same access to healthcare as everyone else. They believe that quality care is a right, not a privilege. Our society has made many progressive strides since Fenway Health was founded in 1971, but recent legislation has proved that we are far from a perfect world. Come support me in my 26.2 mile run to support Fenway Health. All donations go directly to the organization and are greatly appreciated, no matter the amount.
Together, let’s help elevate the voices of those who are not normally heard or represented at all.
The mission of Fenway Health is to enhance the wellbeing of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and all people in our neighborhoods and beyond through access to the highest quality health care, education, research and advocacy.
Our runners have raised over $100,000 for Fenway Health over the last four years. This year, Team Fenway will be bigger than ever and our runners our counting on YOUR support to exceed their goals!
