Cape May County has the highest cancer rate in the State of New Jersey. In Cape May County alone, 17 people are diagnosed with cancer and six people will die from cancer each week.
With the support of our community, Cape Regional Medical Center has invested in state-of-the -art technology in the fight against cancer. Through the efforts of Cape Regional Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Cape Regional we have raised community support for the purchase of the Varian TrueBeam that is housed in the Thomas and Claire Brodesser Cancer Center at Cape Regional Medical Center. The Varian TrueBeam provides the highest quality cancer care to our patients. We are now able to treat prostate cancer in five treatments compared to the traditional 40 treatments and certain lung cancers in three treatments compared to the 35 traditional treatments. And best of all, our patients can stay right in Cape May County, close to home for their treatments, eliminating the need to drive over an hour to Philadelphia.
Cape Regional is committed to providing the most advanced treatment for cancer, as well as a variety of support services and programs for our cancer patients and their families.
