Los Angeles is facing an unseen social crises: thousands of children are growing up without permanent families. With more than 20,000 children awaiting a loving home, L.A. needs more foster and foster-adoptive families than ever.
Established as an orphange in 1888 in downtown L.A., today Five Acres strives for permanency—a permanent, loving home for all those we serve. Our innovative programs help families in crisis remain in tact, as well as help new families come together through foster care and adoption.
• A donation of $100 or more will help provide a "comfort bag" stocked with necessities for a child moving into his or her new foster home.
• A donation of $500 or more will help fund our mental health services to stregthen families and prevent their children from entering into the foster care system.
• A donation of $1,000 or more will provide clothing, pajamas, bedding and toys for the foster children living in Five Acres' cottages.
• A donation of $5,000 or more will fuel our recruitment efforts for new foster and adoptive families, helping us reach hundreds of potential forever families to bring these children home for good.
We believe the greatness of a city is determined by how it cares for its most vulnerable citizens. This holiday season, we urge you to speak up for kids in need Los Angeles and give to the 20,000 by 2020 cause. Thank you!
