"Community Tickets is an amazing gift. It is a system that benefits many and would be greatly missed."
Every year, we partner with 86 social service agencies and charities throughout Vermont to provide over $60,000 in tickets to almost 2,000 people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to the arts. Our Community Tickets program reaches low income families, children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, New Americans, as well as homeless and at-risk youth.
This year, we’re excited to participate in A Community Thrives, the USA Today Foundation’s national challenge that allows us to expand the Community Ticket program by adding new partner organizations and performance offerings. Ben & Jerry’s is generously sponsoring the program in the 2019-2020 season, and will match all donations dollar-for-dollar received during this special campaign.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 by April 12, which will help us unlock grants of up to $50,000 from the USA Today Foundation. Will you join us today in giving a special gift to help us?
Please feel free to share this link with colleagues and friends. No donation is too small, and with Ben & Jerry’s’ support, every dollar is automatically doubled. As a special thank you, everyone who donates now through April 12 receives a free ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s Church Street location. A sweet way to thank you for making this important program possible!
“We serve approximately 40 pairs of 8-18 year olds and their adult mentors. As hard as it is to believe, some of our mentees have never had the opportunity to travel to Burlington, let alone see a show at the Flynn.”
“I would like to take a moment to thank the folks who make it possible for low income Vermonters to enjoy events at the Flynn. As the mother of a child with a significant disability, I realize the impact music has on him. It brings me great joy to see his eyes light up, see him clapping to the music and see his body swaying to the beat. ”
“Ticket prices are out of reach for us on our budget but because of the vouchers, we have been exposed to the arts in a beautiful and meaningful way. I would encourage you to keep making voucher available because it opens doors for our families.”
