As metro Detroit's only food rescue organization, Forgotten Harvest is dedicated to relieving hunger in metro Detroit and preventing nutritious food waste. Last year we rescued over 42 million pounds of fresh food that would have otherwise gone to waste. Our 36 refrigerated trucks rescue food from 800+ donors, including wholesalers, farmers and grocery stores. Our drivers then deliver this food at no charge to more than 250 agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and over 60 mobile pantry sites. With our just-in-time model of getting highly perishable food from donor to recipient agency, Forgotten Harvest acts as the critical link between our food donors and our community's most vulnerable residents.
Your donation goes a long way!
For every $1 donated, Forgotten Harvest is able to provide the equivalent of $7 worth of fresh, healthy groceries to our metro Detroit neighbors in need.
