“It’s a matter of taking the side of the weak against the strong, something the best people have always done.” -HB Stowe
Harriet’s words guide us and our actions every day. She was an educator and a writer voicing her support for social justice. We are sharing that legacy as we work to meet her directive and to foster thoughtful, collaborative, and empathetic citizens.
The Friends of Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Inc. strives to become a nationally recognized historic site. We are working to meet that vision through telling the story of abolition in the 19th century, diverse groups of citizens working together during the 20th century, and ways that we can stand up for justice today.
Our fundraising efforts will go toward providing students and visitors experiences that foster that learning and that legacy.
