These efforts will open up a whole new world of self-esteem and hope for young people in our community by using SPOT 127 and Soundbite to bring art, technology, and digital media to children and teens at Boys and Girls Clubs.
At The Walter Hive student participate in art/tech skills that include welding, woodworking, laser cutting, programming LEDs, and painting to create community artwork with a culminating gallery exhibit.
Through this collaborative effort SPOT 127 – KJZZ's Youth Media Centers will teach students to apply digital audio, video, and photo media production practices telling the story of Walter Hive activities.
To celebrate that student work the mobile audio production studio truck, Soundbite will be used to stage public gatherings so children, teens, and adults from underserved communities can experience for themselves the creative opportunities offered by both programs. These one-day public gatherings will celebrate the students work and provide spaces for participants to create their own art and stories using tools and technology.
