The Frost Place is renowned poet Robert Frost's former home in Franconia, NH. Committed to honoring the legacy of Robert Frost and encouraging the creation and apprecition of poems, The Frost Place now serves as a permanent home and museum for poets and poetry. Since 1977, The Frost Place has awarded a contemporary poet a cash prize, and housed them at The Frost Place during the summer months. In the 40 years that The Frost Place has been in operation, it has expanded the Poet in Residence program which is now sponsored by Dartmouth College, who awards an additional cash prize to the yearly winner. The Frost Place also hosts several summer poetry programs, a chapbook competition, and provides on-site and virtual programming for schools.
As a small nonprofit, The Frost Place heavily relies on donations and support from individuals, businesses, and volunteers.
