The Friends of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (FOPL) is run almost entirely by dedicated volunteers. We are Cincinnatians who are passionate about books, reading, and literacy. We want to insure that in our community has access to affordable, quality used books and media. Nearly 100,000 donated titles are available for purchase between our two locations. (Our flagship Book Store is located in Hartwell, and The Friends’ Shop can be found in the Main Library Downtown) Our customers rely on us for a myriad of reasons. We stock all kinds of books from self-help to whodunits, from classic literature to graphic novels. The money we generate from our book sales, gift shop sales, membership dues, grants, and recycling is funneled back into our community via Library services. We are proud to underwrite hundreds of Library programs, fund book acquisitions, finance new equipment, and advocate for the Library with state lawmakers in Columbus. "A book is a gift you can open again and again." Garrison Keillor Give that gift; Promote literacy in the Tri-State; Donate to FOPL.
